Once your firm has opted to participate in an evaluation procedure, the first stage is a Certification Audit.
You have the choice of having your management system evaluated by a Certification Body (CB) or Registrar, such as The Registrar Company, to see if it complies with a specific standard (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, etc.)
Stage 1 and Stage 2 of this Certification Audit are finished. The objectives, time frames, types of data analyzed, and sometimes even locations of these audits vary widely.
It is crucial to comprehend the distinction between Stage 1 and Stage 2 Audits as well as how the process will be impacted by your choice of CB.
Stage - 1
Finding out whether a company is prepared for its Stage 2 Certification Audit is the goal of a Stage 1 Audit. During Stage 1, the auditor from your Certification Body will go over the data that is documented for your management system, assess your site-specific conditions, and have conversations with staff.
Stage - 2
The Stage 2 Audit assesses how well your organization's management system has been implemented (s). Your Certification Body will assess how closely your organization complies with the requirements of the standard during the Stage 2 audit and report any non-conformances or possible non-conformances that need to be fixed before the certification can be granted. Your organization's management system(s) will be certified if the Stage 2 audit is successful.
