In order to keep an ISO certificate, a surveillance audit is required

One particular assessment of a registered firm's management system that is carried out as part of the registration process is called a surveillance audit.

An ISO (International Organization for Standardization) surveillance audit's primary objective is to ensure that an organization continues to adhere to ISO standards.

By issuing a certificate of compliance with a three-year validity period, a certification body guarantees that the management system will remain operational for that duration.

Regular visits are made by an auditor from the certifying organization to assess the management system's efficacy. The auditor is required to conduct a surveillance audit at least once annually.

An organization can better prepare for each surveillance audit by completing the recertification audit at the end of each three-year certification cycle.
