The Third-Party Auditor
The external audit system will prepare almost identically for your internal audits; perhaps the most important distinction is who will appear in those audits. An external auditor will need to verify that you are in compliance with ISO standards before you can be certified.
In the case of ISO registrars (also referred to as certification bodies), an independent entity responsible for the issue of the ISO certificate to your organization, and a third-party auditor (or auditor team) will be assigned to your organization.
Certification Audit Process
If you have passed an internal audit and kept documentation and records of your ISO procedures for at least two to three months, you can undergo an external audit.
Three steps constitute the official auditing procedure: the opening meeting, the auditing procedure, and the closing meeting.
