Certification Body

A Certification body is a company that performs audits and provides evidence of whether the supplier's entire organization or a particular department has a management system that complies with specific requirements (ISO 9001) and is being implemented in line with those requirements. In order to prove compliance with international standards and offer audit services, certification bodies must seek accreditation (designation) from accrediting authorities and go through audits.
