A statement of policy indicating commitments to pollution prevention, ongoing EMS Environmental Management System improvement resulting in gains in overall environmental performance, and adherence to all relevant legal and regulatory obligations.

Identification of all elements, including unregulated ones, of the community organization's operations, goods, and services that might significantly affect the environment.

Establishing management system performance goals and targets that are connected to the three commitments stated in the community or organization's policy (i.e., prevention of pollution, continual improvement, and compliance).

Keeping the EMS in action to achieve these goals. This involves things like hiring staff, creating policies and procedures for the workplace, and choosing the precise measurements that will be used to collect data and information toward goals and objectives.

Regularly auditing the performance of the EMS.

Analyzing deviations from the EMS and implementing remedial and preventative measures when they happen, as well as routinely assessing the organization's compliance with any relevant legal requirements.
